About

flagThe Independence Day Celebration was started in 2009 by local patriotic citizens, and we are now working on our third annual event. The goal is to develop a long-term, enduring patriotic event for the community to enjoy.

This event will of course evolve over the years, but we hope that it will always be a family event, focused on the good of our Nation. This event celebrates the service provided by those in the military, police and fire department. We want this event to encourage the youth of our Country to follow the honorable beliefs that our Nation was founded upon and celebrate being an American.

Volunteers:

This event would not have been possible without those volunteers who have worked tirelessly to make this event a possibility. These people have families, jobs, and hobbies that have been put on hold, just a bit, to make this possible for the community.

Many of our volunteers come from the Veterans of Foreign War, American Legion, United Veterans League, and the Regional Military Museum. If you are interested in volunteering to help please contact Lee Shaffer at 985-804-2265 or through LSHAFFERS@aol.com

Sponsors:

Of course, this event would not be possible without our great sponsors. We have some very generous people who have put their time, talents and treasure into this event. The co-founders of the event are several members of the local veterans' groups especially the Regional Military Museum, and SEECA Ophthalmology. The title sponsors are the Convention and Visitor's Bureau and H-TV. These sponsors and many other community minded citizens are critical to making this year's event possible.

Please take a minute to go to our sponsor page and thank these people and companies for their assistance. It would not hurt if you spent a little money at these businesses, as well. If you would like to be a sponsor please go to the sponsor page.

Community Leaders:

Our last group of people we have to thank are the politicians and leaders of Terrebonne Parish. Our Parish Council, the Parish President and all the public servants of our Parish have made this event so much easier due to their commitment to making the process easy and have pitched in to help when at all possible.
